As of March 31st, 2007, Kissybook is no longer accepting submissions for print. For more information,
visit the FAQ here.
Kissybook submissions deal simply with only two parties: you, the artist, and
me, the publisher.
Any illustrations or artwork sent in to the publisher will only be used in the Kissybook, the Kissybook website, or Kissybook promotional material. |
If any artwork is needed for promotional material, the publisher will contact the artist for permission beforehand. |
The publisher will automatically refuse material that has been previously published. This means that all submissions should be original and new material. |
Rights to the artwork, however, still belong to the artist, and should he or she want to publish this material in the future, he or she can do so without the notification to the Kissybook publisher. |
The publisher holds the right to curate and choose the entries for the Kissybook. Only a limited number of entries will be chosen for the book version of Kissybook. All serious entries will be published on the website, also to the discretion of the publisher. |
The publisher holds the right to alter your submission to fit the design specs of the book and/or website. These changes are minimal; the publisher will make an effort to not destroy the integrity of any artwork. |
Artists will not be receiving any free copies of Kissybook. For more information as to why this is, please refer to the FAQ. |
However, artists are encouraged to purchase Kissybook as wholesalers and may charge more money per book, and make a profit off their work that way. This kind of profit is unrelated to Kissybook and its not-for-profit mandate. |
Kissybook is a not-for-profit art project, about the distribution of ideas and not to make money. Any money made off of the Kissybook project is only to reimburse production, advertising, and shipping costs. (To learn more about the distribution system, please continue to the
Distribution Page.) |
